Pulsar Ranking: one engine for Google and AI

Almost every SEO tool on the market only covers classic search engines. Pulsar Ranking tracks your Google rankings AND your brand mentions in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity answers in parallel. A unique dataset, essential now that your prospects ask AI before Google.

What is Pulsar Ranking?

Pulsar Ranking is the visibility tracking engine developed in-house by Pulsar. It scans two territories at the same time:

  • Classic SEO: your position on Google (Desktop, Mobile, Local) and Bing for the keywords you track, updated daily with archived SERP snapshots.
  • AI visibility: the presence of your brand in answers generated by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity to the prompts you configure, updated weekly.

The goal: centralize in a single tool what platforms like SE Ranking, Ahrefs or SEMrush cover on the Google side, AND what emerging tools like Otterly, Profound or Whatagraph are starting to measure on the AI side. No more juggling two subscriptions.

Why track AI in addition to Google?

Since 2024, search behavior is shifting: 25% of commercial queries now start on ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's "AI Mode" feature (source: Gartner 2026). A brand that ranks #1 on Google can be entirely absent from AI answers and lose qualified traffic over time.

Conversely, a brand cited by LLMs gains free traffic and strong editorial authority: users trust brands recommended by their AI assistant more. Pulsar Ranking lets you measure and optimize this new visibility dimension.

How does the engine work?

1. You configure your targets

In your dashboard, you enter:

  • Your keywords with engine, language, geographic area and SERP type (Desktop, Mobile, Local).
  • Your AI prompts phrased as a real user would ("which SEO agency Luxembourg", "best CRM for B2B SMBs", etc.).
  • Your competitors to compare (up to 10 per project) to measure your share of voice.
2. The engine runs in the background

Every day at 4am (EU time), Pulsar Ranking queries Google and Bing for each of your keywords. Each week, it queries ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity for each of your prompts. Answers are archived for retrospective audit.

3. You consult your results

The dashboard displays your average position, 7/30-day evolution, competitors, best and worst movements. On the AI side: your brand mention rate, your position in cited sources, and week-over-week evolution. Everything is exportable in CSV or PDF.

Typical use cases

Multi-client SEO agency

For each client, track 50 to 500 strategic keywords on Google + 50 to 200 AI prompts tied to their sector. Present each month a unified SEO + AI report that justifies your added value and differentiates your agency from competitors covering only Google.

Growing B2B brand

Measure if your brand is cited when a prospect queries ChatGPT about your category ("best project management software", "top inbound agencies Belgium", etc.). Identify the prompts where you don't appear to adjust your content strategy.

E-commerce with product range

Monitor your Google positions on transactional queries AND the frequency with which LLMs recommend your products against competitors. Detect emerging new products that AIs start mentioning before they dominate.

Frequently asked questions about Pulsar Ranking

How many keywords can I track?
From 50 (Pulsar Solo) to 2,000 (Pulsar Scale) in a shared pool between your projects, or more with addons (up to 5,000 per addon). The Pulsar Network pack opens to 10,000 keywords, and Pulsar Custom is quoted for needs beyond.
How many AI prompts can I test?
From 25 prompts per week (Pulsar Solo) to 1,000 (Pulsar Scale). Each prompt is queried on the 3 LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) once per week, for 3,000 weekly LLM calls on the Scale pack.
Why a weekly frequency and not daily for AI?
LLM answers evolve more slowly than Google SERPs. A weekly check offers a reliable signal without excessive API costs. On Pulsar Pro and above packs, a daily check option is available as an addon.
Does Pulsar Ranking monitor Google AI Overviews?
Yes. For each tracked keyword, the engine detects whether your URL appears as a cited source in the Google AI Overview. You see the double impact: organic position AND AI Overview citation.
Which languages are supported for AI tracking?
Pulsar Ranking tracks prompts in French, English, Dutch, German, Luxembourgish, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian (the 8 dashboard languages). You configure each prompt with its target language for realistic results by market.
Can I track my competitors?
Yes, up to 10 competitors per project. For each keyword, you see your position AND each competitor's. For each AI prompt, you see if your competitors are cited instead of you in the LLM answers.
Is data archived for retrospective audit?
Yes. Pulsar retains SERP snapshots (Google, Bing) for 365 days and raw LLM answers for 90 days. You can consult the exact answer that justified a mention or its absence at any date.
